Andreas Mikkelsen will make a one-off return to the Norwegian championship on January 14.
The Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion has entered the season-opening Mountain Rally in a Skoda Fabia Super 2000 alongside regular co-driver Ola Floene. It will mark the start of a busy period for the 22-year-old who will undertake reconnaissance for the Monte Carlo Rally immediately afterwards.
With defending champion Mads Ostberg not appearing on the entry list, Eyvind Brynildsen, in a similar Fabia, is expected to be Mikkelsen’s closest challenger.
Anders Grondal, who battled Ostberg for the 2011 Norwegian crown is also missing from the entry with co-driver Veronica Engan joining forces with Marius Aasen in a Ford Fiesta S2000 instead.
WRC Academy Cup aspirant Steve Rokland, the winner of the Fiesta SportTrophy International Shootout in the UK last November, lines up in a Skoda Fabia R2.
The event features six stages over a competitive distance of 143.05 kilometres.
