IRC co-driver champ Fløene set for festive fun

Ola Fløene, who co-drove Andreas Mikkelsen to Intercontinental Rally Challenge glory in 2011, will celebrate Christmas in his native Norway today by eating pork served with potatoes and vegetables.

But Fløene says a desert of mountain-grown strawberries accompanied by ice cream will be the highlight of the meal he will enjoy with members of his family.

“It’s quite a traditional meal but the desert is one of the best ones you can have because the strawberries are grown in the mountains,” said Fløene, who partnered Mikkelsen to victories in Scotland and Cyprus this season on board their ŠKODA UK Motorsport Fabia Super 2000.

“After we have the meal we will have some coffee and then give presents – it will be a nice day,” added Fløene, pictured left with Mikkelsen on the Cyprus Rally earlier this season.

Mikkelsen and Fløene, who incidentally confirmed he has no plans to go ‘planking’ at Christmas, will defend their IRC crown in 2012. The series gets underway on Sata Rallye Açores from 23-25 February.
